Live-In Care - home care services

Melody Care supplies Care Assistants throughout the county and across the UK to provide a tailored service to suit the specific and individual needs of our Clients. Our expertly trained Live-In Care Assistants offer a friendly, sympathetic and discreet approach ensuring a high quality service at all times, to enable our clients to continue to lead an independent life.

Live-In Care is exactly as it sounds; a professional Care Assistant lives with the Client/s in their home providing a bespoke home care service as desired by the Client's themselves.  We provide assistance to a diverse range of people and cater for couples as well as those living alone.  From those that are seeking companionship and assistance with housekeeping, to those that are Physically / Mentally Disabled,  the Frail Elderly or the Terminally ill. We also help those that suffer from all manner of afflictions such as MS, ME, Myasthenia Gravis, Alzheimers, Parkinson's, Dementia, Huntingdon's and Cancer to name but a few.

We will be more than willing to discuss any Care Package you have in mind. By way
of example here are certain situations we regularly provide assistance with:

  • Short/Long Term Home Care Packages (min 1 week)
  • Assisted Living whilst studying at University/College
  • Holiday Companionship
  • Respite Packages
  • Hospital discharge rehabilitation periods
  • 2 Independent Living Assistant Placements (for more complex needs/constant supervision)

Continuity of Care is paramount to our belief of a good service. Our Care Assistants are carefully selected prior to placement and we are proud to say that we have an extremely high compatibility rate on first time placements. Many of our Care Assistants remain with their Clients on a long term basis and just take a break every couple of months to recharge their batteries. However, we do have Clients that like to see fresh faces every so often and we are happy to accommodate their wishes. In short we will do everything in our power to offer you the service you are seeking.

We also guarantee to provide cover at all times. So, in the event that your Care Assistant may be poorly and need a break, we will always have a replacement before that Care Assistant has to leave. We will NEVER leave a Client unattended at any time.

Live-In Care may truly be tailored to specific needs and is flexible so that the Care Package may change as the needs of the Client change. Below is an example of the typical day of a Care Assistant to enhance your understanding of how we may be able to help you, your relative or your friend.

NB - Bespoke Care Plans are designed during an initial meeting with our Client Liaison Officer and the Client plus any family members. Other concerned individuals are also most welcome to attend. A Live-In Care Assistant may do as little or as much as is required. They are discreet and subtle in their work.

General notes about Live-In Care

A Care Assistant may assist in any or all of the following (please note this list is not exhaustive): All aspects of personal care eg washing, bathing, toileting, dressing and undressing, overseeing medication and feeding (including peg feed), hair care, nail care and teeth care.

* Typically a Carer will be on duty for a period of 15hrs a day, out of which they will require break periods totalling three hours, this can be continuous or intermittent. It should be noted though that each case is different and working days will need to reflect this. Should a Client require constant supervision then two Care Assistants will be assigned to work together in a shift pattern, to accommodate this.
